Disclaimer: Following his presentation for the Oak Lodge Governance Project, Dave Hunt became involved in a legal issue. Providing a video of this presentation does not in any way imply that the OLGP has taken a position regarding his innocence or guilt. The information he provided remains valuable to the work of the community as we consider governance issues and for that reason, it will be posted to our website for ongoing reference.

Dave Hunt, former Speaker of the Oregon House of Representatives, provides information on the transfer of revenue between the state and counties. Mr. Hunt provides insight into which state funds are solely distributed to cities and not dispersed to unincorporated areas.

The topics Mr. Hunt touches on include Oregon’s gas and highway trust fund taxes, alcohol and marijuana taxes, cigarette taxes and 9-1-1 taxes.

Mr. Hunt is a long time resident of Jennings Lodge and served as a State Representative for the Oak Lodge area and Speaker of the Oregon House of Representatives. Hunt is currently the CEO of Columbia Public Affairs, a legislative advocacy group that provides lobbying and strategic consulting services.

This regular series, scheduled for the second Saturday of each month, will provide information on our current governance structure, as well as historical context, background and cultural perspective. It is designed with the residents of Oak Grove and Jennings Lodge in mind, but all are welcome.
